Hey there, Alissa Nicole here! Ever since I could walk I loved performing, dancing, and being upside down. Whether it be tumbling or doing a headstand I've always gravitated towards growing stronger (mentally and physically), becoming more flexible in everyday situations, and living fearlessly. Fast forward 26 years later & I am currently a RYT200 yoga teacher, fitness
enthusiast, model, blogger, and actress. 
Where it is on or off the mat yoga inspires me to live each moment more mindfully. For me, yoga is about the balance between strength and flexibility, exertion, and releasing. So, my classes combine both strength and mobility work in a dynamic, Vinyasa Flow style. Expect to move, sweat, and breathe.  We'll always be switching it up, trying new moves, dancing it out, and letting our stresses go. Because that’s what life all about. After all, you can only realize new passions if you step outside the box!
I continue to learn every day about health and wellness and want to share all of my tips/ adventures/ and lifestyle hacks I pick up along the way.



 


No one else is you and that is your power

Starting from my momma, to best friend, basically every woman that has been an inspiration or had an impact on my life, my goal has been to empower females from all walks of life and corners of the world.  

A healthy mindset goes hand in hand with  lifestyle. Most importantly a sustainable one that lasts and can be maintained. If you start by judging yourself, your body, or try to become someone else's photoshopped idea of a woman, then let me save you some time, you're always going to fail. Don’t bother.  Instead of obsessing over others' milestones or accomplishments, focus on what you love about yourself and what you are willing to do to get to where you want to be and have a vision for yourself.  

Comparison is the thief of joy, love you, and know that you’re beautiful right now, just as you are. This is something you need to have deeply embedded in your heart and soul, because this does not mean you have to be “easy” on yourself. Simply hold yourself accountable to be the best you can be physically, mentally, emotionally. Love yourself, but make sure you use it constructively, not in a means to be complacent. 

Our Mission

Our Mission: Here at Pura Vida Living we provide and support you with the tools  to have a physically, emotionally, and mentally healthy lifestyle. We achieve this by helping you to get that mind-body connection to establish inner peace. No, not like in Kung Fu Panda. Simply put, we provide yoga and fitness coaching combined with nutritional counseling through our food guides. These are always uniquely catered to each client's needs. 

 

 "What does Pura Vida mean?". Pura Vida is a typical Costa Rican saying which is used for any and all encounters in the country. Thank you or your welcome, take care or enjoy! Pura Vida, in all its ways it is used, the message is clear. No worries, everything is good.

 

 "Pura La Vida" - "Pure Life", "Simple Life". It is more than just a philosophy - it is way of living and mindset that frees you from unnecessary worries. Pura Vida is a reminder to approach life with grace and gratitude. It lets you to be able to appreciate the simple treasures of life.

 

While travelling to Costa Rica - I was  inspired by such a way of living as well as attitude towards life. Having had first hand experience of such a lifestyle inspired me to the point where I lit up with the idea of promoting this beautiful way of life we could all use a little bit of, here locally. In pursuit of such an endeavor; Pura Vida Living was founded.
